Greenfield residents to dive into lake appreciation

Residents in the Greenfield area can learn just how much they connection they share with Lake Michigan at the ‘Love Your Great Lakes’ event taking place in just over a week’s time.

Many activities are planned throughout the day. Cold-blooded animals indigenous to the lake will be paying a visit courtesy of the Mequon Nature Preserve. Interested visitors can even grab a hand lens and play a game of Critter Bingo looking at small aquatic organisms. The Riveredge Nature Center is providing a game of magnetic fishing alongside sturgeon Stamps and paper for arts and crafts. On top of this, there will be an interactive flood plain, carnival games, and coloring worksheets.

The event is being presented by the Fund for Lake Michigan and Discovery World. The goal is to encourage children and families to learn more about the lake and its effect on the community through interactive activities. Discovery World is a nonprofit devoted to the educational, cultural, and environmental development of the Milwaukee Area.

The Love Your Great Lakes event is being held February 13 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Discovery World Center located at 500 N. Harbor Dr. in Milwaukee.
