The 26th annual Dan Jansen Family Fest will return to Greenfield during the Memorial Day weekend. The festival is set to go ahead, albeit with changes to adhere to social distancing guidelines.
This popular festival was cancelled last year because of safety concerns amid the pandemic. This year, the festival will be held over three days instead of the usual four-day event. The family-friendly event has games, music and food.
Every year, Greenfield residents look forward to this celebration timed to welcome the beginning of summer. The funds raised through it are used in entirety for the City of Greenfield Park Department’s projects. Past events have helped fund projects like the Dan Jansen Park, Konkel Park Reader Board, Konkel Park Maintenance Facility, and the Legacy Fountain at Bicentennial Park.
The festival begins on the Friday with performances by Rebel Grace, a contemporary country music band. Saturday’s events include performances by Larry Lynne band and Cherry Pie. Families can enjoy a magic and musical show on the same day. The festival closes on Sunday with performances by the Doo-Wop Daddies and Bella Cain. Promoters for the bands performing at the festival are likely to use poster printing to spread the word about the event.
The festival will begin at 5:00 pm on Friday, May 28. On May 29 and 30, the festival opens at 12:00 pm. The event closes at 11:00 pm on all three days. The venue is Konkel Park at 5151 West Layton Avenue.
