Book lovers and tattoo enthusiasts in Greenfield are excited about Author Visit: Amelia Klem Osterus. The event takes a look at a special corner of history while allowing visitors to meet a nonfiction author.
The star of the show is Amelia Klem Osterus, a Wisconsin native and academic librarian with a history degree from the University of Wisconsin. She will be in Greenfield to talk about her book ‘The Tatooed Lady’.
The book explores the history of women in the early 20th Century who covered themselves in tattoos and toured the country with carnival acts. Through pictures, anecdotes, and history, Osterus explores the strange and brief intersection of women’s history, tattoo history, and circus lore.
The author will give a short presentation on the book, sharing some of the stories and pictures while also discussing some of the research she did. Afterwards, the event will switch over to questions and answers, where visitors will get to ask Osterus for some more detailed information. When everything is over the author will be available for book signing. The book’s Print company will have extra Copies on hand for purchase.
Author Visit: Amelia Klem Osterus will take place April 11 starting at 7:00 pm at the Greenfield Public Library, located at 5310 W. Layton Ave. Admission is free to the public. Anyone looking for more information should contact the library directly.
