Greenfield residents can expect a fun-filled 4th of July celebration.
This year’s theme is Salute the Troops – Heroes in our Hearts. Mayor Mike Neitzke and the Dan Jansen Family Fun Fest unanimously elected Retd. MSgt. Larry Elliott USMC, a Vietnam War veteran, as the Grand Marshal for the celebrations this year.
Former military personnel and those currently in service are welcome to walk with the Grand Marshal in the parade. Interested military people and veterans can send the completed parade form to gfjuly4@yahoo.com. Those interested in driving a veteran at the parade can contact Pam Panich at 414-881-5866.
Children aged 4 to 12 can participate in the 2021 Greenfield pageant and bicycle decorating contest. Though free to enter, participants for the pageant must register before 6:00 pm on June 25, and need to be available for a rehearsal on June 26, 6:00 pm at the Konkel Park gazebo. The contestants will be interviewed by the judges on July 3. Participants must be Greenfield residents or attend a school at Greenfield, and should be dressed in age-appropriate formal attire or evening gown.
Vendors at the event are likely to showcase their products with the help of banner printing. The evening will end with the sparkle of fireworks.
The parade will begin at 12:15 pm at Konkel Park, with the judging of the bike decorating contest just before it at 11:30 am. The evening will end with the sparkle of fireworks, starting at 9:45 pm.
