Greenfield gears up for farmers market season

Greenfield residents can look forward to purchasing farm fresh produce and foods at the City of Greenfield Farmers’ Market. This market has been growing since 2013 and now has more than 50 participating vendors.

Shoppers can buy fruits, vegetables, dairy products, meat, baked goods, and other ready-to-eat foods. The market features live music from talented local musicians. Makers Market, held on the first Sunday of every month, is a special event that will showcase handmade items such as masks, soaps, clothing, and jewelry from local artists. Clement manor, a continued care retirement community, is the major sponsor for this market.

The Greenfield farmers’ market encourages local agriculture production, emphasising that locally sourced produce often has a higher nutrient value because the produce reaches the market in minimal time after harvesting. Opting for local produce also helps consumers to eat more fruits and vegetables that are in season.

The market aims to give local producers and consumers an opportunity to interact and build lasting relationships. At events like this, vendors often use flyer printing to spread the word about their business, and may use business card printing to encourage repeat custom.

The market will be held every Sunday from May to October from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, and takes place at Konkel Park at 5151 W Layton Avenue.
