Greenfield festival celebrates migratory birds

Greenfield will celebrate Annual World Migratory Bird Day this October as part of a global initiative to educate the public about migratory birds and how communities can better protect them.

World Migratory Bird Day is a global initiative intending to promote the importance of birds in the ecological fabric of communities and how human activities can harm their migratory patterns. Strategic urban planning and conservation efforts will be highlighted to create more bird-friendly villages, towns, and cities.

Greenfield’s celebration will be held at Konkel Park where the market is usually held. There, attendees will find educational booths and activities relating to birds and migratory information. The Zoological Society of Milwaukee, the Wild Ones, and other related ecological organizations will be on hand to answer questions during a special Q&A session. There will also be plenty of kids’ activities ongoing, such as chalk art, sticker collecting, and face painting.

Local vendors may decide to get involved in educational events like World Migratory Bird Day in order to better connect with the community at large. Involvement in such events may lead vendors to decide to upgrade their business cards to further prepare for connecting with potential clients.

The Greenfield World Migratory Bird Day is slated for Sunday, October 5 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. It will be held at 5151 W Layton Ave, Greenfield.
