This July, the Milwaukee Vintage Style Society Summer Picnic will be held in Greendale near the Greenfield area to celebrate a love of vintage clothing and good food.
The Milwaukee Vintage Style Society is an organization that promotes vintage clothing and hosts themed events, such as the summer picnic happening in July. The society prides itself on embracing “vintage style not vintage values,” meaning that it promotes a love of vintage fashion without supporting some of the dated values of years past.
The summer picnic will feature BBQ from Smoke Shack, a local BBQ joint that also offers vegan options. There will be plenty of games and activities for children and adults alike to enjoy. Home bakers are encouraged to bring a homemade dessert bar creation as there will be a bar baking contest to find the best dessert bars in town. The winner will receive an exciting prize as well as bragging rights. Attendees are encouraged to dress in their favorite vintage clothing.
Community events like this may be advertised through flyer printing and distribution to drum up interest in the event.
The vintage picnic is scheduled for July 9 from 11:30 am to 6:00 pm. It will take place at Root River Parkway in Greendale, just three miles from Greenfield. Adult tickets are $18, and kids’ tickets are $8 for ages three to ten.
