German festival will help to heat up the summer

GermanFest is returning to the Milwaukee area for three days this summer.

It is a celebration of German food, music and culture. There are set to be five stages that will be providing a variety of entertainment from performers such as Alpensterne, Talisman, Jerry Schneider, and Alte Kameraden. There will also be lots of opportunities for dancing and the first night will end with a fireworks display. Of course, there will be plenty of foods to purchase and enjoy.

It will not only be German entertainers who will appear during the festival; the Jams on Tap concert series is set to feature concerts by Three Dog Night, Bret Michaels, and others.

There will also be family friendly activities such as the Dachshund Derby, a soccer tournament, and Battle of the Mascots. Children can also learn about bike safety, take part in a ‘Design it Lab’ workshop, attend a soccer clinic, and participate in the children's parade.

This event will likely attract visitors from all over the area, including nearby Greenfield. Local brochure printers may be asked to help provide programs that can be distributed throughout the community.

GermanFest is taking place at the SummerFest Grounds in Milwaukee from July 25th to 27th. Admission is $10 in advance or $13 at the gate, $7 for seniors and youth, and free for children aged 12 and under. To learn more about all of the activities, call 414-464-9444.
