Area museum offers art classes for everyone

The Trout Museum of Art offers a variety of classes for people of all ages throughout the year, as well as the annual Art in the Park festival each July. There are two upcoming classes here that will teach some of the basics of printmaking and painting.

Starting to Paint in Watercolor is a two-day workshop for high school children and is led by Jeff Zdrale. Fees will include a kit containing all of the necessary tools for students.

Pumped for Printmaking, meanwhile, is a six-week course aimed at children between the ages of 11 and 14. Students will learn the basics of relief printmaking and discover how to create their own linoleum cut prints; all of the supplies are covered in the registration fee.

It is likely that some people residing in surrounding areas such as Greenfield will also be interested in this course. Organizers may invest in flyer printing services to help get the word out.

Starting to Paint in Watercolor will take place on January 10 and 17 from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm each day. Fees are $95 for Trout Museum of Art members or $105 for non-members.

Pumped for Printmaking will run each Tuesday from January 13 until February 10 from 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm each day. Fees are $65 for members and $75 for non-members.
