Waltraud book signing and author speech in Green Bay

The Brown County Library is set to host a member’s only book signing event for the book “Waltraud, A True Story of Growing up in Nazi Germany.”

The book, by Tammy Borden, is based on the author’s mother’s experiences of growing up and living in Nazi Germany during World War II.

Her mom’s vivid memories of the events from 1937, when she was just ten years old, to post-war Germany, combined with the author’s thorough research, make this book both compelling and historically correct. Throughout the book, the reader takes writers on a roller-coaster ride exploring how the main character transitions from her childhood naivety to the unforgiving reality of living in a war-tone country and beyond.

Tammy is a first-generation American, and she grew up hearing all the horror stories of war-torn Germany from her mom. She started recording all these stories and even took trips with her mum to Germany to document the stories and walk the streets to get a better understanding of the actual settings of the struggles of the people during World War II.

Today, she partnered with a book printing service to transform these heart-wrenching stories of strength, loss, and love into an Amazon Best Seller. As such, she allows readers to intimately observe Waltraud’s (the main character’s) journey.

This member-only event will be held at the Brown County Library’s Meeting Room on June 4th from 6.30 p.m. till late, and Registration is still ongoing. The first seven people to sign up and attend the event will receive a free author-signed copy of the book for their home library.
