History event explores Green Bay fires

History lovers in the Green Bay area are in for a treat next month, as local experts will gather to shed light on the circumstances behind the 1871 fires.

The Hear Their Stories: Realities of the 1871 Fires historical event is getting ready to welcome guests to learn more about one of the worst firestorms in American history. The evening will pair a dinner experience with the history discussion, with David Siegel, a retired Green Bay Metro Fire Department Captain.

Siegel will use his knowledge to give an in-depth look at how the firestorms affected the Green Bay area and the damage they caused to the Bay of Green Bay. The discussion will focus on historical facts, offer modern comparisons to recent firestorms, and correct misconceptions surrounding the event. Brochure printing is a fantastic resource for providing attendees with more information about the firestorms for a comprehensive experience.

Guests are welcome to arrive early to enjoy cocktails and a social period, with dinner being served shortly after. The meal will entail a broasted chicken dinner served with coleslaw, a roll, and a potato. Vegetarian options are also available to attendees with dietary restrictions.

The Rite Place in Green Bay will host the dinner and history discussion, which is slated for Tuesday, October 7th, at 5:00 PM. General admission tickets cost $33.85 per guest online.
