Green Bay new zoo offers cool brews

Residents in the Greater Green Bay Area are getting excited about the New Zoo's latest fundraiser. Brew at the Zoo offers potables, a picnic, and philanthropy all in one.

The event is aimed at raising money for S.A.F.E., the Saving Animals from Extinction program run by the American Zoological Association, which does a lot of its local work through AZA accredited zoos like the New Zoo that invests over $160 million annually to SAFE programs.

More than a dozen breweries will be on hand at the event, offering samples of their signature microbrews, ciders, and ales. Guests will receive some special custom Drinkware bearing the logo of the New Zoo, which they can use to sample any of the available alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available. Visitors will also get a free pretzel necklace and will have the opportunity to buy picnic style food. Music will also be provided at the event courtesy of a DJ.

Additionally a historian from the Neville Museum will be on hand to talk about the history of beer brewing in Wisconsin. They will bring some actual beer and soda brewing systems to demonstrate how they're made and how much fun it can be to brew at home.

Brew at the Zoo will take place on June 15 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the New Zoo, located at 4378 Reforestation Rd. The event is limited only to those who are 21 and over. Only 1200 tickets are available, making it a very exclusive event. Designated Driver tickets cost $25 a person and regular tickets cost $35. Anyone looking for more info should contact the New Zoo directly.
