Two individuals who are learning at Sherando High School played an important organizational role in delivering the event. The level of their success will be easier to evaluate after a conference of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is held.
The FCCLA are meeting in Virginia Beach. If similar dances are to be organized going forward, then those responsible may wish to use flyer printing in Virginia Beach to raise awareness among elderly people who still live in their own accommodation.
Lacey Johnson has explained her motivation for getting involved in the project:
“A lot of people stereotype nursing homes as a not-fun place to be. That's one reason I wanted to do this.”
Johnson has stated that she became familiar with the nursing home in question as the consequence of attending an earlier event. That occasion was connected to the work of the Nation Honor Society (NHS) and reportedly inspired her to act.
Olivia Scott joined up as a partner in the project. The activity of the two teenagers has been praised by teacher Ashley Robinson. In addition, the positive feedback from residents like Nancy Thomas and Gerry Green has shown that the seemingly hard work of the two young people was noticed.
