Virginia Beach shellfish fans are about to be treated to a feast, and while they enjoy the experience, they will be showing some love to the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad (VBVRS).
The organization will be rolling out the welcome mat for its 50th annual Oyster Fest. The organization helped over 19,000 people last year, and the diners will be ensuring that the organization continues to answer the calls.
Ticketholders for the seafood soiree will be able to enjoy both freshly shucked and fried oysters, and clam chowder will be served as well. The landlubbers in the crowd can dine on fried chicken and pork BBQ. A selection of classic sides and beverages, including soft drinks, beer, and wine will be on offer. Specialty cocktails may be purchased as well.
Along with the food, attendees will take in live demonstrations by the rescue squad, and there will be raffles for a variety of Corporate Gifts. Everyone can try their luck in the silent and live auctions, and the vendor market will be filled with items crafted by local artisans. Vinyl Headlights will supply the live tunes.
Virginia Beach oyster fans will be filling their plates at the 50th annual VBVRS Oyster Fest on Sunday, March 1st, running from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The Virginia Beach Convention Center will be the location for the occasion.
