This spring, Virginia Beach will serve as one of 50 different locations across the country that will be hosting an event in support of finding a cure for retinal degenerative diseases.
VisionWalk, which has been organized by Foundation Fighting Blindness, is back for its 6th year. Residents are encouraged to bring along their friends and families and enjoy an afternoon of walking the five-kilometer route, which will take them up and back down the boardwalk in an effort to raise funds and awareness of retinal degenerative disease and research into finding a cure. Flyers can be posted throughout the local area to let the public know about events such as this, which can help to ensure they will be a success.
There is no entry fee to participate in the activities, and to thank people for taking their time to lend the cause a helping hand, Buffalo Wild Wings will be offering specially discounted pricing on its menu items for those who took part. In addition, to this, 10% of the sales made to customers who mention the VisionWalk will be donated to Foundation Fighting Blindness, which can further help to maximize the impact of the day.
Additional details about the day, which will kick off in 31st Street Park at 11:30 am on April 30, can be found by visiting its Visit Virginia Beach website listing.
