Virginia Beach Recreation centers offered open houses and a special deal

This is the 40th anniversary year for Virginia Beach Parks and Recreation, and to help mark the event, it recently offered area residents a special deal.

Open houses were held on January 10 at all six of the organization’s recreation centers. During these, all residents of the city who wished to purchase a membership, or replace one that had expired, were able to do so for just $60.

Along with the reduced fee, those who came out had an opportunity to watch fitness demonstrations, get tours of the facilities, and learn more about the children’s activities and sports, all at no cost.

Recreation Supervisor David Greene hoped that this would encourage more people to pay a visit to their local center and learn more about what it has to offer them. He further went on to say that there has already been a spike in the number of people taking out memberships since the start of the New Year.

Presentation Folders, perhaps filled with more information about the different programs and facilities, could be given to everyone who stops by the open house event. This can further help to encourage them to join.

There are six recreation centers in Virginia Beach that are currently in operation: Princess Anne, Great Neck, Williams Farm, Bow Creek, Seatack, and Bayside. The one in Kempsville is currently undergoing replacement.
