Virginia Beach plans cool summer celebration

Ice cream can be a great way to cool off on a hot summer day, and a Virginia Beach festival will celebrate this well-loved frozen treat.

Those who come to the Francis Land House celebration will learn about the history of ice cream, as well as the many Forms and flavors it has taken on over the years. There will also be crafts, stories and other fun.

An old-fashioned crank ice cream maker will be featured in an interactive display, and guests can try their hand a giving it a turn. Since it is the second Saturday of the month, it will be time for ‘Second Saturday Storytime’, and in keeping with the theme of the day, there will be ice cream-themed stories and crafts, and a special guest from the movie ‘Frozen’ will be on the scene to share in the festivities. With a variety of treats on offer for purchase, admission to both the festival and story time are free .

The event is being offered to the public through the support of Virginia Beach Historic Houses. A printing services provider will be able to provide any printed materials needed to add to the festive air of an event like this.
