Neon workshop to help locals glow up their art

Next month, Virginia Beach will have the chance to make some fun, glow-in-the-dark artwork at an upcoming acrylic paint workshop.

A local furniture flipping business called Uncommon Redesigns will host the class, which is one of several creative workshops the business holds for the community throughout the year. March’s upcoming event will focus on teaching attendees how to create a neon fluid painting using acrylics.

The studio will have UV lights on to activate the paint colors, so organizers encourage participants to wear clothing or accessories that glow under UV. People should also wear clothing they do not mind staining with paint, because the painting process is likely to be messy. After the event, participants will be able to take home a unique, glow-in-the-dark acrylic painting on a 12x12 canvas.

To comply with current COVID-19 guidelines, there will be contactless temperature Checks at the door. Attendees are also required to wear masks and practice social distancing. The event is limited to one reschedule, and no refunds will be given.

The neon art workshop is scheduled for March 5, starting at 6:00 pm. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased at Uncommon Redesign’s website.
