Music festival to be held in Virginia Beach

A festival celebrating the renowned genre of steel pan music will be held in Virginia Beach this May.

The event's name is the Virginia International Pan Fest, and the occasion is open to all members of the community who are lovers of steel pan music. The line-up for the event features over 20 steel pan bands based in local high schools, colleges, and from the surrounding communities. Each team will battle for the opportunity to be called the top performing band of Virginia Beach.

The event is put on by the Virginia Beach Hotel Association, as well as the Virginia Arts Festival. This is an annual event, and it comes as an extension of the steel pan workshop and classes held at the Virginia Beach Convention Center. The classes have internationally renowned instructors and musicians who conduct them. The occasion will have lively and upbeat music that is sure to have patrons dancing along throughout the event.
