Local sportswear manufacturer to create 45 jobs

An athletic Apparel company with a base in Virginia Beach plans to plough $1.2m into its growth plans and create dozens of jobs in the area, according to reports.

Dreamlight Inc, which has a Centerville Turnpike HQ and was founded more than 25 years ago, makes high-end sportswear for gymnastics teams competing on high school, college, and national levels.

At present, the company employs 60 members of staff but, under the new plans, it intends to buy the building adjacent to its current facility close to Regent University, adding a further 10,000 square feet to its existing 15,000 square feet and taking on 45 new employees, no doubt leading to an increase in local orders for digital Business Cards.

Speaking about the move, Virginia Beach Economic Development’s director, Warren D. Harris, said in a statement that the manufacturer has been awarded a large contract to supply a new range for Disney stores. He went on to say that he anticipates future commercial success for the company.

The Economic Development Authority of Virginia Beach is set to contribute a $20,000 grant towards the project, and professional printing services could be used to advertise the new jobs.

Dreamlight Inc. is not the only company in the area expected to create new employment opportunities for people in the region; training and consulting firm Cape Henry Associates is soon to add 36 jobs, and GovSolutions Inc., a supplier of office furniture and interior designs, is set to take on an additional 10 employees.
