Local SPCA to host Vet for a Day program

Virginia Beach kids who have always dreamed of being a veterinarian will soon have a chance to be part of a day of activities that will offer them a taste of what a typical day can be like for a vet.

Kids ages 6 to 12 are invited to explore the world of veterinary medicine in a way that will be fun and age appropriate. Both and introductory and advanced workshop have been prepared, and the one chosen will depend upon the child’s age.

Staff from the Virginia Beach SPCA will guide the children through its ‘Vet for a Day’ programming, and these vets in training will engage in actual hands-on animal care. They will also be given a tour of the organization’s facility and learn about the responsibilities, challenges, and rewards of sheltering and rehoming animals in need.

The introductory and advanced sessions will both run throughout the day, and as spots tend to fill very quickly, parents or guardians have been advised to register their child as early as possible. Marketing materials for this type of educational experience can be provided by Print shops in the area.

The introductory workshop will be held on February 1 for kids ages 6 to 9, while the advanced class geared towards those ages 9 to 12 will be offered on March 29. The registration fee is $75, and it will be held at 3040 Holland Road.
