Virginia Beach will host its annual beach bash in late August.
This is the 11th year of the FunkFest Beach Party. A popular family reunion on the coast, it is also a reminder of a past era. Guests are encouraged to arrive together to the 24th Street beach area and wear offbeat clothing. Disco and funk music will play and home-style food will be available.
Metro by T-Mobile, Ocean Storage, and Patient First are some of the many companies sponsoring the event. It is free to attend the concerts and enjoy the beach, although guests can buy tickets at the city visitor center for access to a special viewing area near the stage. The address to the information center is 2100 Parks Avenue. Tickets go on sale and the gate to the VIP area opens two hours before concerts begin.
The Oceanfront at Virginia Beach includes a resort and multiple restaurants so guests can book weekend accommodations. Guests can park in the Municipal Garage on 25th Street for day trips.
The music festival will be August 28-29. Although the festival will proceed if it rains, officials will reschedule the event if there is a chance of severe weather.
Flyer printing advertises events on beaches effectively because the boardwalk is a popular area to hand them out and they are portable reminders of the event.
