The 21st annual Wine by Design presented by the Atlantic Shores Retirement Community will take place at the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) on February 24 from 7-10 pm. Tickets are $50 for MOCA members and $55 for non-members; the event is a fundraise for the MOCA Foundation’s art education programs.
This year’s theme of Wine by Design is Warhol and Wine in honor of the Andy Warhol: Portraits exhibit which will be showing at MOCA from May 24-August 19. Those who attend the event can have their portrait created in the style of Andy Warhol, can enjoy appetizers, wine and craft beer and can take part in a silent auction. In addition, there will be an after-party at Catch 31 beginning at 10 pm.
Local Virginia Beach companies have donated items for the silent auction which will no doubt include items such as travel packages, hotel stays and merchandise. Printing companies in the area can help those companies draw attention to their donations by providing products such as Flyers to mail out to their customers. The company who donated the goods can let their customers know the event is coming up and that they were a part of it; this helps to raise goodwill and shows them they care about the community in which they live.
One of the programs funded by MOCA is the Student Art Start program which provides low-cost art education to students whose schools have either eliminated or severely curtailed their arts programs.
