Vienna residents who are curious to learn about the unique history of their community will soon be participating in a bicycle tour. This event is open to everyone and intended to highlight how the city has evolved over the years.
Trails & Tales: Vienna’s Hidden History Bike Ride on the W&OD Trail will be following the famous W&OD Corridor. This route is associated with a host of historic events, and some of the sights may be new to participants. Topics set to be covered include Vienna's role in the Civil War, the history of Piney Branch Stone Bridge, the locations of confederate trenches, and Civil War artifacts that locals have discovered.
While this tour will mainly focus on the history of Vienna, it is just as suitable for anyone who enjoys the outdoors, or who may be looking for a way to connect with other residents.
One-off events catering to a niche audience will often hone their marketing techniques around this demographic. Possible approaches include brochure printing, placing Flyers in community centers, and updating itineraries found on official government websites.
Trails & Tales: Vienna’s Hidden History Bike Ride on the W&OD Trail will be taking place on Saturday, October 10th between 8:30 AM and 12 PM. Riders are asked to arrive at the Freeman Store & Museum located at 131 Church Street NE in advance. Tickets cost $25 per person.
