Hilton, in conjunction with America Express, is making a million hotel rooms nights available to those frontline healthcare professionals across the United States who are fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.
Beginning today (April 13) and extending through May 31, the Mclean-headquartered hotel chain will be providing doctors, nurses, paramedics and EMTs and other medical staff dealing with virus patients a room for isolating themselves to protect their families. Ten healthcare associations are working with Hilton and details for booking a room can be arranged through them.
American College of Emergency Physicians William Jaquis, MD has expressed appreciation on behalf of the healthcare community. According to Jaquis the knowledge that a clean, safe, comfortable room is available at the end of a long difficult shift can go a long way to boosting morale.
Hilton hotel brands participating include Hilton, DoubleTree and Hilton Garden Inn. Christopher Nassetta, Hilton CEO, is quoted as saying:
“Across the United States, owners of Hilton Hotels of every brand are eager to support their communities and be part of the solution. They have been instrumental in making this response possible.”
Flyer printing as well as poster printing are among the methods groups normally turn to for spreading information among their members.
The financial terms of American Express's investment were not disclosed; however, the company did reveal that independent owners and franchisees would provide the donated rooms at cost or lower.
