Those interested in serving on the 11-member governing board of the McLean Community Center (MCC) can now pick up applications for the 2022-2023 governing board elections.
The board’s function is to provide program and facilities oversight, as well as to set policies and handle the Center’s budget. The members of the board include two youth members that serve one-year terms and nine adults who serve three-year terms, with one third elected each year.
Keeping members of a group or organization informed is often most affordably accomplished with the help of flyer printing services.
Criteria for being eligible to run include living within the boundaries of the MCC, also known as Small District 1A-Dranesville. Adults wishing to serve on the board must be at least 18 by May 15, while youth members can only run if on May 21 they are between the ages of 15 and 17. Youth candidates must live within the McLean or Langley high School boundaries but need not actually attend those schools.
Every candidate will be required to submit for publication their candidacy information as well as obtain 10 signatures from residents of Small District 1A-Dranesville. All petitions must be returned by March 11 at 5:00 pm.
In-person early voting will start March 16 with open voting lasting through 5:00 pm on May 18. The last in-person ballot casting will take place on May 21. Winning candidates will be sworn into office on June 8.
