Pasadena workshop to help build safer workplaces
Preventing accidents is an important piece of creating a safe workplace for all, and a workshop that will be focused on this area is scheduled to take place in Pasadena.
The Competent Person Class will offer training to prevent slips and other types of industrial fall accidents, and it will be suitable for both construction and general industry environments. The learning will be delivered through several modules, and both classroom and hands-on instruction will be utilized.
During the 16 hours of training, the students will learn the fundamentals of fall prevention, and they will also discuss the roles and responsibilities of both the Competent Person and Authorized Person. A review of safety equipment will be included, and aerial lifts and ladders will be included.
At the end of the two days, the learners will walk away with an understanding of the OSHA regulations that apply to their workplace, as well as knowledge of fall prevention systems and equipment. They will be able to share this with their co-workers.
Participants will receive a workbook and other materials, as well as a Competent Person certificate they can hang on their wall, a wallet card, and a sticker with a special graphic design to put on their hard hat to indicate they have completed the course.
Pure Safety Group in Pasadena will be hosting this educational opportunity starting on March 9, 2021. Questions about the activity can be directed to 1-800-466-6385.
