Pasadena library event will be for the birds
An event that is on the way for the Pasadena Central Library will provide children with an introduction to some of the area’s fine feathered friends, as well as a variety of books for any that want to find out more.
The library will be hosting a session for the younger set that has been dubbed ‘Birds, Books and Beyond’. It will combine a variety of hands-on learning methods to help the kids who participate discover more about these feathery creatures.
The facilitator will lead the participants through an assortment of activities that will teach children about bird songs and what they mean, their habits and habitats, and many other topics. There will be live birds on hand for them to meet, and the learning will involve physical activity such as dancing. They will also be guided to some of the books in the library that can help them to find out more about the avian residents of their local area. Copies of coloring sheets and other handouts for this type of function can be prepared by print shops in the area.
The hour-long session will be taking place on the afternoon of March 12, starting at 3:00 pm. It will be held in the meeting room of the Central Library, and any children who would like to be included are welcome to take part.
