What's Happening in Pasadena, TX…

Pasadena asked to help stuff the bus

As Pasadena kids prepare to return to school, the community has been asked to get behind a movement that will make sure they have the supplies they need.

The city’s Chamber of Commerce has partnered with the City of Pasadena and the local school district to host the “Fill the Bus” campaign. Individuals, groups and businesses are encouraged to participate by either making a monetary donation or a contribution of gifts in kind, and a list of the materials needed the most has been prepared.

The event was first held in 2018 and helps classrooms to have the materials they need. Pencils, glue sticks, batteries and other items are on the list of supplies called for. Anyone who would prefer to donate a check is asked to make it payable to the “Pasadena IS Educational Foundation.” The drop-off station will be set up at the Pasadena Convention Center.

Many communities host “stuff a vehicle” campaigns to collect donations of school supplies and other materials. A poster printing company will be able to prepare marketing items that may help to generate public interest in an activity.

The Fill the Bus school supplies drop off day is scheduled for August 1, during which items may be donated from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm. Everyone is asked to be generous in support of the activity.
