FILE PREPARATION TIPS

BLEED

Printers do not print to the edge of the paper. We print on larger sheets and trim them down to size. If your background does not extend 1/8" past the edge of the paper (the bleed), you might end up with a narrow white margin on all four sides of the design.

RGB vs. CMYK

Your screen used light (RGB) to show colors on your screen, but, we use ink (CMYK) to print. Flourescent colors and many blue and orange colors will often look different than your screen because they can not be replecated with ink.

RESOLUTION (The 300 dpi rule)

That graphic that you saved from a website might look "crisp" on your phone, but web graphics are usually very low resolution (72 dpi [dots per inch]). You will know if the graphic is low resolution if you zoom in to it as far as you can. If lines and text look pixelated or blurry it will print that way and you will notice it when printed. High resolution graphics can be found, but, you will likely be required to pay for them.
