New scoreboard ordered for Turner Stadium

Football fans at Turner Stadium in Humble will be able to enjoy a better viewing experience of replays from the start of next season.

The old scoreboard was installed in 2012. At the time, it was the biggest videoboard ever installed in a United States high school stadium and it was a donation from the Houston Sports Authority. Since then, it has been plagued with technical issues and always needs to be repaired. The panels on the board are the main cause of concern. They are replaced often, however there have been times when they could not be replaced fast enough and the audience had to deal with blank spots.

The new scoreboard being installed will cost $750,000 and will have a video board on the same screen. Humble ISD feels that it is a worthy investment so that Turner Stadium can continue being a venue of choice for big events. Jamie Mount, who is the Chief Communications Officer for Humble ISD, stated:

“The new video scoreboard will bring Turner Stadium to current standards, keeping it as an attractive venue for a wide variety of events that benefit our students and the community.”

The system that will be installed at Humble used in 17 other nearby districts. Students in the Humble ISD who are learning about technology will able to use the new screen as a part of their courses. Details about new installations can be included on flyer printing to promote events.
