Humble plays its part in supporting community

The Humble Thanksgiving Feast committee has started preparing for the 11th annual Thanksgiving Feast.

Every year, the event is open to the general public and made possible due to support and donations from residents, businesses, and social organizations.

This year, as in previous years, Top Hat Catering and Mo's Barbecue will make a traditional Thanksgiving meal, including a turkey, cornbread, ham, and stuffing. For dessert, diners will enjoy pumpkin pie. For those who are housebound during the holiday, such as the sick and elderly in the region, takeout and delivery are going to be available.

In addition to the meal, live music and children's activities will round out the event. Santa Claus also will make an appearance, providing an opportunity for families to take pictures, seek printing services, and order Holiday Cards or other seasonal items.

Feast sponsors include a range of businesses, from The Tribune Newspapers to the Humble Rotary to Minuteman Press and others, but additional donations are still needed. Cash donations may be made to Citizen Bank, 8811 FM 1960 Bypass, Humble.

The feast will be held at the Humble Civic Center from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm tomorrow. To place an order, volunteer, or seek other information, phone 281-540-9597. Those interested in helping or finding out more might also want to visit the event Facebook page.
