High Schools set graduation dates

Officials from Humble ISD are reviewing plans on how to hold its graduations ceremonies in person. According to a news release from the district, the officials are looking at options for July and whether the graduations can be held inside or outside.

The number one choice for most high schools is an indoor graduation ceremony, which will be held at the NRG Stadium in Houston. If Quest Early College High School has a ceremony, it will be held at the Humble Civic Center. Kingwood Park, Kingwood, Atascocita, Humble and Summer Creek schools will have their ceremonies on July 25, while Quest will have theirs on July 27.

Officials have contingency plans in place for the possibility that indoor events will not be allowed. If that is the case, HISD will hold the ceremonies for all of its high schools at Turner Stadium in Humble. The dates will change as well, which means that Kingwood High School will have its ceremony on July 20, Kingwood Park’s would move to July 21, Quest Early College will have its ceremony on July 25, and Atascocita High School students will graduate on July 24. Promotional Pens can be handed out at school events.

Humble ISD is not the only district opting to postpone the ceremonies rather than holding them virtually. Caney ISD has also made the decision to push the graduation ceremonies for its high schools to July 18.
