Houston families offered campout experience

Houston families will be sleeping under the stars when they participate in a two-night campout event later this month.

The crew at Lake Livingston State Park has invited parents and kids to be part of a weekend camp out that will offer a taste of tenting. The fee to get involved is $95 for each family with up to six members, which covers the fees as well as the park entry price.

To make it easy for those interested to participate, registration includes the use of basic equipment such as a tent, camp stove, cots, and other supplies. Bedding, food and other personal items will need to be supplied by the campers themselves. They will cook their own outdoor meals, and access to hot showers and flush toilets will be available. The rangers will facilitate special programming to help everyone pick up some basic skills and have fun.

A family gathering can be a fun way to make some memories. Organizers can order special “Campout 101” and other certificates of completion from Stationery printers to present to the participants, along with small Promotional Products such as crank flashlights.

Houston families who would like to get their feet wet when it comes to tenting are welcome to take part in this weekend starting on Friday, June 20. Pets need to be left at home. Anyone with questions is asked to call 512-389-8903.
