Free festival will educate the public on technology

The 9th annual Houston Techfest is taking place next month in Houston. It is dedicated to teaching people about the internet and current technology.

There are set to be door prizes, seminars, and workshops in categories such as .NET, JavaScript and SharePoint, with topics like coding standards, résumé writing, interview tips, apps for business, building web applications, and Windows 10. Among the guest speakers appearing at this year's festival are Todd Anglin, Nikki Carter, Michael Crump, and Lana Kalashynk.

Recruiters will be on hand for those looking for a job in the technology sector, and guests are encouraged to bring their résumés. Vendors will also be showcasing both hardware and software programs.

There will also be plenty of time for networking with those in the technology industry. While there is no lunch provided, food concessions will be available.

Many of those who are planning to attend, in addition to bringing a résumé, will also be bringing along their digital Business Cards to exchange with their peers. Some Houston printing companies will likely find an increase in the number of orders for business card printing leading up to this event.

The Houston Techfest will be held at NRG Park on September 12 from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm. Admission is free, but parking is $15 cash. To get the latest information about this event, and to view a complete schedule, visit the official website.
