Scouts set for Houston surge

The annual Boy Scout Fair is returning to Houston this April, courtesy of the Boy Scouts of America, Sam Houston Area Council.

This event is open not only to Scouts, but also members of the general public who might be interested in finding out more about the organization. Scouts from 16 countries will be on hand to showcase their skills. Local area leaders will be providing information for current Scouts or for those wishing to join. Visitors will have the chance to sample food cooked in a Dutch oven, watch a welding demonstration, and see a weather balloon launch.

The Merit badge Midway is set to feature up to 90 experts who will guide Scouts towards a variety of merit badges. The Conservation Corner is expected to provide information on the environment, conservation, and animal science, with live reptiles and insects part of the display.

Boy Scouts, those who want to join, and their families from all over Houston will want to take time to visit this event. Organizers might have ordered flyer and poster printing services to help let the community know about the fair.

The Boy Scout Fair is being held at NRG Park on April 18 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Admission is free and parking is $10. To find out more information about this event, call 713-756-3374.
