The International Quilt Festival is taking place in Houston next month for four days.
Over 35 countries are expected to be represented at this year’s festival, and there will be over 1,000 vendor and exhibit booths for the public to visit, together with more than 1,000 quilts on display.
There will also be 500 classes and lectures which will begin just prior to the festival. Classes and lectures will be given by expert quilters and will range in price from $8 to $170; many classes also have an equipment fee and participants are expected to bring basic supplies.
There will be luncheon lectures, an Iron Quilter Challenge, tours of the Texas Quilt Museum, and a Demo Alley where quilters will showcase their skills.
Prior to this festival, there will be a three-day Quilt Market event for industry professionals only.
Those who wish to attend a preview can purchase tickets for $12, which will include another day at the festival.
This event will attract quilters and experts from all over the Houston area. No doubt, organizers will have invested in marketing services to help spread the word.
The International Quilt Festival will be held at the George R. Brown Convention Center from November 2 to 5. Tickets are $12 per day and $9 for seniors, students, and military, or a full show pass is $42. Visit the official website to learn more.
