The exhibition "Faberge: the Art of Presentation" is on display at the Houston Museum of Natural Science until the end of this year.
The House of Faberge was started by Gustav Faberge in St. Petersburg, Russia, and was in operation from 1842 until 1918. While the House provided jewelry and other decorative accessories, it is mainly known for producing Faberge Eggs. These were given to some of the most famous people of the time, including Russia’s czars, and each egg contained a surprise that was not always easy to discover.
The exhibition features over 600 pieces from the McFerrin Faberge Collection. There are over 70 eggs on display alone, as well as a gold armband dating back to the 4th Century.
As this wis a rare opportunity to get this close to so many Faberge eggs, no doubt many Houston residents will be interested in attending this show. To spread the word, local poster printing firms often provide marketing materials that can be displayed throughout the city.
The Faberge exhibition will be on show at the Houston Museum of Natural Science until December 31. The museum is open from Monday to Sunday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Admission is $25 for adults and $15 for children. To find out more about this exhibition, contact the museum at 713-639-4629.
