The 7th annual "Original" Houston Creaole Heritage Festival is taking place this September. It was originally slated for March as a celebration of Mardi Gras.
The festival celebrates the great culture and food of Creole and New Orleans. There will be Mardi Gras punch to enjoy, a Creole bar and all types of food, including barbecue, brisket, gumbo and even cookies; there may even be some king cake. Food will be provided by local restaurants and food trucks.
Music will be provided by several acts including the David Sylvester Jr. Band, Christina Wells, and Rueben Moreno and the Zydeco Re-evolution. There will also be several DJs on hand. There will be a special kids' zone as well.
Vendors will be there to sell arts and crafts and health-related products, as well as highlight various local services.
VIP tickets can be purchased for $50 each. They include a demonstration and food tastings provided by Chef Gaston, a private bar with two free drinks, and a lanyard that says "First serve" so ticket holders can skip the lines at the vendor booths. They also get to attend a meet and greet with Christina Wells.
Printing services companies in Houston are often asked to provide the marketing materials for these types of events.
The festival will take place at Midtown Park on September 26 from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM, and general admission tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for youth between the ages of 12 and 17. Visit the website to learn more.
