Presented by PPE Live, the African and Caribbean Food Festival is taking place next month in Houston.
In addition to celebrating the food, the festival will feature cultural performances of dance and music, as well as a variety of costumes worn by participants and guests. All guests are encouraged to bring the flag of their country and dress in traditional costume.
However, the main reason for this festival is to celebrate the variety of foods enjoyed by those from Africa and the Caribbean nations, such as the Bahamas, Jamaica, and Haiti. Some of the foods that are expected to be offered are jerk chicken (Jamaican and very spicy), agusi (dried seeds), suya (a meat skewer), obono (a West African seed used in soups), and plantains.
No doubt this festival will attract a number of people who are interested in learning more about their neighbors or their own culture. Houston flyer printing companies are often asked to provide the marketing materials for events like this, including those that can be inexpensively and quickly distributed in the community.
The African and Caribbean Food Festival will be held at the Ayva Canter on Saturday, August 3 from 2:00 to 10:00 PM. Tickets are $10 each, although there is a special Groupon ticket available for $8. For the latest information about this event, call 713-998-0079.
