Expo helps residents prepare for summer storms

The Extreme Weather Ready Expo is taking place soon in Houston. This popular event usually attracts over 2,500 visitors.

The expo is being held to educate residents about the extreme weather that is becoming more frequent every summer. It will consist of interactive exhibits, and speakers such as Mayor Sylvester Turner and Judge Ed Emmett.

Seminars will take place on topics such as flooding, hurricane season forecasting, and CPR training; these will be hosted by experts such as TV meteorologists and emergency managers. Many of the seminars will also be delivered in Spanish. Visitors will also have the opportunity to ask many experts about any of their concerns.

Several local vendors will be on hand to showcase their related merchandise and provide giveaways to the public. There will also be a kids’ zone and the first 1,500 visitors will receive a free lunch.

Although admission is free for this event, those planning to attend are asked to preregister.

Many of the vendors planning to attend will be handing out samples and Promotional Products to Houston residents. This may include custom Pens, fridge magnets, and instructional Brochures.

The event takes place at the George R. Brown Convention Center this Saturday, June 3 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. For a complete schedule of the expo, or to register, visit the official event website.
