A comprehensive sushi course is visiting Bellaire next month, and cooks and food enthusiasts will want to leave space in the calendar to attend the event.
The Aya Sushi Class, led by the renowned Chef Yoshi Katsuyama, will guide attendees through the techniques, methods, and tips used to create flavorful sushi rolls. Areas of emphasis include house maki, crudo, classic maki, and nigiri.
Guests will learn these basics at a covered patio for protection from the elements. Attendees will enjoy access to cocktails, and a take-home gift will be included with the cost of admission. The gifts include a cutting board, knife, rolling mat, and other essential sushi-making equipment. Brochure printing can guide attendees through each step of the culinary process at cooking courses like this.
A maximum of 10 spots will be available for the class, so interested parties are encouraged to make reservations while places remain. The class is suitable for cooks and chefs of all experience levels, meaning beginners are welcome to join. Sharp objects will be used to create the sushi, and Chef Katsuyama recommends leaving children at home. The event is subject to change due to weather conditions.
The class will be held at Aya Sushi on Saturday, August 17, with the course kicking off at noon and ending at 2:00 PM. Tickets can be purchased online for $125 per attendee.
