Bellaire boating hobbyists take to the water

Fans of do-it-yourself projects from throughout Bellaire are eagerly anticipating a unique racing event open to all ages. This competition is set to provide a great deal of fun for the entire family.

In the Bellaire Cardboard Boat Regatta, guests will be asked to create their very own boats using nothing more than a series of cardboard slats and a roll of duct tape. Those who are confident that they have crafted a seaworthy vessel will then participate in a race to determine the ultimate victor.

Prizes will be awarded for several categories. Some of these are based on the ages of the competitors. Awards for the best boat design and the best costume are also set to be unveiled.

One-off events associated with family-friendly activities will often benefit from modern marketing approaches. Consulting graphic design specialists when creating Flyers, placing Posters around the community, managing social media pages that can be regularly updated, and advertising on certain radio stations are all proven techniques.

The Bellaire Cardboard Boat Regatta is being held on Friday, July 17. The competition will begin at 6:00 PM and conclude at 7:00 PM, and is taking place at the Bellaire Pool located at 7001 5th Street. Although no tickets are needed, guests are still required to register online via the City of Bellaire website.
