The ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk will be presenting its Capital Area one-mile walk and 5k run/walk coming in mid-June. Proceeds will go to helping patients with prostate cancer and their families.
General announcements and registration will open at 7:00 am with the opening ceremony beginning at 7:45 am. That will be followed by the Kids' Superhero Dash for Dad at 8:00 am. The one mile and 5k will begin at 8:15 am, and the Survivor and Caregiver ceremony will begin an hour later at 9:15 am. Closing remarks and the awards ceremony will take place at 9:30 am.
In-person Arlington runners and walkers may register as individuals, join a team, create their own team, or become volunteers. Participants will be creating their own swag on Bonfire.com, where they can order tank tops, hats, and custom shirts.
Fundraising recognition rewards begin at $50. Participants raising at least $50 will receive blue T-Shirts sporting the event's Logo Design. Prizes range from caps, sling Backpacks, folding binoculars, and sports duffle Bags to earphones, puffer jackets, professional Backpacks, and weighted blankets, and get more valuable as fundraising levels get higher. Those raising $5,000 or more will get their names published in the 2024 Annual Report and their pick of any item from the $250 to $2,500 levels.
The Capital Area Run Walk will take place Saturday, June 15 beginning at Pentagon Row Courtyard at 1101 S. Joyce Street.
