This September, Nashville will host the Out of the Darkness Walk.
This event is dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by suicide.
The walk provides a compassionate space where participants can connect with others, share their personal stories, and find hope through mutual support. It is organized annually by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). This non-competitive event raises awareness about suicide prevention while promoting healing and remembrance.
A variety of activities are planned throughout the morning. Participants can attend a brief opening ceremony. They can also take part in healing activities, collect honor beads, and access educational resources and suicide prevention materials available across the venue.
Proceeds from the event will directly support scientific research, advocacy initiatives, and mental health awareness programs. Through these efforts, the organization aims to expand public education in schools, workplaces, and communities. It will also provide support to individuals and families facing difficult times.
To ensure seamless execution, event planners frequently utilize graphic design when building readable signage, directional Banners, and detailed Flyers that guide attendees around an event location
