Mt Juliet plays pickleball for animal shelter

Mt. Juliet pickleball enthusiasts may enjoy attending the Pickles for Pup Pickleball Tournament coming in early October.

The one-day event will be an outdoor pickleball tournament for men's, women's and mixed doubles. There will not be any singles play. Players must choose to enter either the men's or the women's doubles or the mixed doubles but not both.

Registration will be $50 per individual, and registration will end on September 30th. The event is limited to 150 players.

Each team will be guaranteed five games. The format will be Pool Play and there will be eight teams in each division. Each team will play four games up to 11 points and must win by 1 point. The top two teams will meet in a gold medal game, play to 15 points and must win by 1 point. Those teams that finish with the 3rd and 4th best scores will play for the bronze medal in one bronze medal match. Again, they will play to 11 points and must win by 1 point.

Along with tournament play, the venue will offer prizes, music and food for purchase from food trucks.

All proceeds from this event will be donated to the Mount Juliet Animal Shelter.
