Mount Juliet runs the Tommy Crockett
Many Mount Juliet runners and animal lovers will be heading to the annual Tommy Crockett Memorial Rescue Run at Two River Ford coming at the end of November.
In prior years, the race was known as The Turkey Trot and is now named in honor of Tommy Crockett who was the General Manager of Two Rivers Ford for thirty years before passing back in 2023.
Registration will be $49.70 for the 5k and $39.10 for the 1-mile Fun Run. Medals will be given to runners in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in 13 age categories and overall male and female finishers will receive gift baskets and trophies for the 5k. Runners can pick up their packets in the Two Rivers Ford showroom, starting several days before the races.
Proceeds from the event will go to Animal Rescue Corps.
People of all ages are encouraged to come watch and offer encouragement to the runners. Dogs are also welcome, both in the race (for those at the back of the pack) and watching, so long as they are on leashes.
Race sponsors often have pictures of the race winners duplicated at local print shops for the winners, and to be displayed in the sponsor's business locations.
The Tommy Crockett Memorial Rescue Run 5k and Family Fun Run will be taking place at Two Rivers Ford situated at 76 Belinda Parkway, Thursday 27 November (Thanksgiving Day) with the Family Fun Run starting at 8:00am and the 5k following at 8:30am.
