Just as with a person’s physical health, their mental health can also sometimes be in need of some first aid, and a Memphis workshop will equip those who take part with skills they can use to lend someone in need a helping hand.
The Mental Health First Aid Training seminar will teach the participants what to do to assist someone in crisis until they can access professional help or other support. It is being offered to members of the public at no cost, but donations to help meet the cost of hosting the event will be appreciated.
The students in the class will learn how to implement a five-step plan they can use to help someone in a mental health emergency. They will also discover how they can connect that person with the various supports that exist in the community. The session will run from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm, and all who feel it could be of use to them are welcome.
This educational function will take place at 1350 Concourse Avenue, and parking is free. Training manuals and other learning materials for this type of occasion can be produced by a local catalog printing company.
March 22 has been selected as the date for the Mental Health First Aid Training workshop. Advance registration is requested, and this can be completed by visiting the class’s event listing.
