The Dixon Gallery and Gardens in Memphis will host a Christmas program that is co-presented by the Cazateatro Bilingual Theater Group and Opera Memphis.
¡Christmas Fiesta! is a community activity where people can learn about holiday traditions from the Caribbean and Latin America. The experience will feature craft activities, Latin food, and Spanish Christmas music. Guests will also learn about topics like piñatas and parrandas. Those who want to help at the party can volunteer to lead art-making activities during the festival. All volunteers will receive a sandwich during their shift, and participants must be at least 12.
The Cazateatro Bilingual Theater Group is an organization that celebrates Latin American culture through the arts and aims to strengthen relationships between Spanish and English-speaking communities. The group was formed in 2006 and is led by Dorimar Ferrer. Opera Memphis is a performance organization that was created in 1956. The group produces opera shows and can be supported by those who join the Opera Memphis Camerata. Members of the organization can receive discounted admission to performances.
The Christmas party will be held on December 14th from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. There is no cost for the community to enjoy this cultural experience, and the event will be family friendly. Registration is also not required. Organizations that work together to create community festivals like this may use Corporate Gifts to thank those who support their programs.
