Memphis set for Indian twist

India Fest 2014 is taking place in Memphis this November, providing an annual event attracts at least 12,000 visitors each year.

It is presented by the India Association of Memphis and aims to educate the greater population of the city about the culture of a large group of their neighbors.

This year's festival is set to feature a wide variety of Indian foods from local businesses and caterers, dance performances, music, art exhibitions, and cultural displays about India. There will also be informational booths from Indian community groups and non-profit organizations, Indian cooking demonstrations, and a marketplace selling arts and crafts related to the country.

A kids' corner will help to keep the younger members of the family entertained; activities are expected to include dance lessons, storytelling, games, and henna tattoos.

Sponsorships are available for local businesses, and volunteers are still being sought to help run the festival. Vendors paid from $325 to $750 to have access to the marketplace.

To advertise this event in the Memphis area, organizers have likely worked with local Print companies to produce items such as Posters and Flyers.

India Fest 2014 is being held at the Agricenter International on November 1 from 9:00 am - 8:00 pm. Call 901-626-7995 to find our more information about the festival such as ticket prices, to become a sponsor, or to volunteer.
